Week 5: Integration

Throughout the week, we worked on changing the parts on the base to prevent it from tipping and we also finished the arm so all we got to do is attached. once the arm is integrated with the base, everything will be basically done. The last thing we would have to do is build a lift mechanism and program the bot to make sure that everything is working correctly.

Week 5: Remodeling

This week we hope to get the new vex parts we ordered and replace them in our robot. We hope to finish the arm this week, as well as program the base of the robot for basic movement.

Week 4: Enhancement

This week we tested the robots ability to drive. One side was reversed which made the robot spin in a circle but we fixed it so that the robot goes forward. We had to move the flat metal from the middle of the chassis (the two that we put together to make one longer chassis) to the side of the chassis because the axles couldn't spin.

Week 4: The Arm

This week have finally designed the model type of the robot and we are just waiting on some pieces so we can finish the robot. Our two programmers are hopefully going to work on setting the motors to their corresponding roles. We will hopefully get the parts by the end of the week and then its only a matter of placing the parts together.

Week 3: Finally Moving

Last Friday, we finally got all the wheels and motors on our robot. This week we hope to complete the base of the robot by get all our motors connected to the brain so that it could start driving. We also plan on starting the arm as well getting all of the motors attached to get the arm to move.

Week 2: The End to the Beginning

This week we completed the chassis, as well as began to attach the wheels. We had to alter our chassis to meet the size requirements. Also, we began building the arm, but need to revise our design because the initial attempt was not sturdy enough. This was a successful week in terms of delving into our challenge and getting a good first crack at it.

Week 1: Confirmation

After days of planning how we were going to build our robot and deciding which methods we were going to use we went up for our second attempt to have our robot build accepted. We were told to empty out our carts and report back to him as soon as we are done to begin the construction of our robot. Hopefully we will start Tuesday and get this robot going.
