Week 10: Challenge #2

Today we have been tasked with a new challenge. We have two minutes to throw as many stars and cubes over as possible, as well as hang the robot. The previous challenge was not entirely successful but we are optimistic that this one will have good results.
               

Week 9: First Challenge Completed

Our first challenge is done and quarter 1 is complete. Although we did not do as well as we hoped, we were still able to complete the challenge. Our next challenge will be in about 2 weeks and, learning from our mistakes, we are hoping to complete the challenge and receive a great score.

Week 9: Completing the Challenge

This week we are working against the clock to complete the challenge. Our robot wasn't moving because we had complications with the original coding so that needs to be fixed.

   

Week 8: The Challenge is here!

The completion of the challenge was due Wednesday, however, we did not complete the challenge in that time. As we finished our robot, we encountered issues with the way it picks up and throws the stars. It does not work the way we hoped, but we have been working to fix the issues so that we may complete the challenge.

Week 8: Upcoming Challenge

By this Wednesday, our robot should hopefully be completed as it is due for the challenge. The challenge involves our robot grabbing the stars and throwing them over to the other side to score points- each star is worth 10 points. We hope to update and finish the SolidWorks version of our robot as it is due Wednesday too.

Week 7: Programming

This week we continued working on programming the robot. The robot is just about done besides the end effector. However, we are still undecided if are going to use standoffs or another idea. Wednesday is coming fast, but we are going to succeed.

      

Week 7: Finishing the Robot

This week we are pressed for time as the due date for the robot approaches. We still have a large amount of work to do, such as completing the claw and getting the motors synced with the cortex. We lost time due to a hurricane, but are determined to jump right back in and finish our robot.

        

                  

Week 6: Lost Time

We didn't get much done this week since we had no school on Monday and we lost two more days due to the hurricane. However, we did add another element of the arm and the gears and motors that go with it.

Week 6: Gears

This week, we will continue working on our robot. We are not sure how much we will complete as the weather is suggesting there may not be school for part of this week. However, our goals include to finish attaching the gears for the arm and start working on the back of the robot to lift it up to the red tube.
